Dr. Navras J. Aafreedi is an Assistant Professor of History at Presidency University in Kolkata, India. His publications include the monograph Jews, Judaizing Movements and the Traditions of Israelite Descent in South Asia.

He is credited with introducing Jewish and Judaic studies into South Asian academia with his undergraduate course on global Jewish history. His courses on Jewish history and the Holocaust are the only such courses in Asia outside of China and Israel.
